I am a writer and educator with a passion for community.
Romanian by birth, Swedish by upbringing, and Londoner for thirteen years, I now live and write in Perth, Australia.
My writing has appeared in numerous magazines and journals, and in a collection of short stories (The Whip Hand, Fremantle Press, 2016). I have worked as a writer on collaborative storytelling projects, as a translator on international theatre productions, as an astrology columnists, and more.
I have run creative writing workshops on a plethora of subjects, including on taboos (how to tackle the dark, dirty, and unacceptable), archetypes (how to apply universal themes), and motivation (how to craft interesting characters).
I have worked with writers of all backgrounds and experiences, and I strive to provide a crisp perspective and the opportunity to build confidence and have fun.
It is, in fact, my deepest held belief that adults need to play more and work less.
“I loved it. Mihaela is a natural teacher. The group was warm and supportive, and Mihaela led it well and set boundaries kindly. I had so much fun. It was very enjoyable as well as informative. I looked forward to class each week.”

As a veteran of the NFP sector, I have also supported hundreds of small NFP organisations. I believe that effective strategy, impact, and success are all about crafting – and committing to – the right narrative.
I use stories to bring people together. Sometimes this means helping small NFPs to navigate their strategic planning journeys, and sometimes this means facilitating creative writing workshops that inform, challenge, and entertain.
